What happens next when you contact our professional staging service?

When selling a home, first impressions are everything. At Lemon and Lime, we specialise in presenting properties at their absolute best, helping homeowners achieve faster sales and stronger buyer interest through thoughtful, professional staging.

We know that many home owners are nervous about making contact with us as professional stagers for a number of reasons. Our homes are very personal and it is hard to invite someone else in deliberately to change the way we live whilst we are selling the house, even if the end goal is to achieve the highest possible offer in the quickest possible time. Sometimes a home owner is concerned about the costs involved and sometimes they are anxious about the amount of effort zhuzhing up the presentation will take.

Below, I explain exactly what happens after you call us so you know what to expect when you choose to work with us.

Step One: A Friendly Conversation

Every project begins with a conversation. Whether we speak initially on the phone, by email or even via your estate agent like to give us a call we talk through what we do and how we can help.

At this stage, there’s no pressure or commitment, just an opportunity for us to understand your property, your timescales, and your goals for the sale. On the flip side, it is an opportunity for you to understand what difference we can make to the sale of your home by considering presentation as a commercial marketing tool. We have data collected from the business over the last 10 years to share with you to clearly outline the expected return on investment of any staging costs.

You can also explore our gallery of recent transformations on our website to see the results we achieve for clients just like you.

If you have approached us without yet engaging an estate agent we can usually help you choose the best agent in your area for a home like yours. We work with hundreds of agents right across the UK.

Step Two: A Visit to Your Home

Before making any recommendations, we visit your property in person or via a WhatsApp video call if diaries and geography mean this is a more effective way to begin. This is a crucial part of our process. Seeing your home allows us to assess its layout, light, flow, and unique features, as well as identify where small changes can make the biggest impact.

You may already have started preparing your home for sale, or you may feel unsure where to begin, either way, we guide you calmly and clearly, ensuring nothing unnecessary is suggested and your budget is always respected.

Step Three: Your Personalised Staging Report

Following our visit, we create a detailed staging report tailored specifically to your home. This outlines the most effective changes to enhance presentation and maximise buyer appeal.

The report may include:

  • Styling and layout recommendations
  • Decluttering and editing advice
  • Light cosmetic improvements
  • Suggestions for furniture hire where appropriate
  • Access to trusted trades and property services if required

Some clients choose to implement the recommendations themselves, while others prefer us to manage everything from start to finish, both options are absolutely fine.

Step Four: Scheduling the Transformation

Once we agree on the scope of work for which you need our help, we’ll book a suitable date to begin. In most cases, we can start within two weeks, ensuring your property is ready for market as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.

Step Five: Professional Property Dressing

On the agreed date, our experienced staging team arrives to transform your home. Whether we are working with your existing furniture, hired pieces from our collection, or a combination of both, every room is styled to feel aspirational yet inviting.

You don’t need to be present during this stage, as long as access has been arranged. Depending on the size and complexity of the property, staging typically takes between one and three days and we pride ourselves on being both efficient and meticulous.

Step Six: Photography That Does Your Home Justice

Once staging is complete, we strongly recommend professional property photography and videography to beautifully showcase the lifestyle your home offers. Exceptional presentation deserves to be captured properly, and high-quality images are essential for attracting serious buyers online.

We liaise closely with your chosen estate agent to ensure photography, floor plans, EPCs, and marketing materials are all aligned and timed perfectly.

Step Seven: Market-Ready and Sold

With staging complete and photography finished, your home is fully market-ready. Throughout the process, we keep your estate agent informed so everything runs smoothly and without delay.

When your property sells, we arrange a convenient time to collect any rented furniture. We understand how busy this period can be, so we remain flexible and accommodating.

Step Eight: Supporting Your Next Chapter

Our relationship doesn’t have to end at the sale. Many clients continue working with us as they move into their next home.

Our ongoing services include:

  • Unpacking and styling your new space
  • Furniture and accessory sourcing
  • Redesigning layouts to suit your lifestyle
  • Creating a cohesive, personal interior that truly feels like home

With access to trusted suppliers and unique pieces, we can help you achieve a refined, individual look far removed from the “off-the-shelf” feel. If you are looking for a full interior design service or need trades to help get work done on your new home we have a fabulous ‘little black book’ of trusted experts, just ask!
